Boulder, Colorado has so many hidden gems and locations for couples planning an intimate and affordable micro-wedding or elopement within 45 minutes of Denver.
One of my favorite elopement locations in Boulder is Halfway House.
Halfway House is a true hidden gem if you are looking for a private, intimate and affordable location to elope in in Boulder, Colorado. You can make a private reservation for Halfway House through the City of Boulder self-service website and the Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP).
Halfway House can be reserved for one to three hours (the perfect amount of time for an intimate elopement or micro-wedding) and accommodates up to 49 people. The cost is minimal, $100 to $275, making it a gorgeous and affordable place to elope in Boulder. It offers beautiful stonework, views of the flatirons and gorgeous meadows from spring to fall.
It is one of the best places to elope in Boulder with scenic views. The low rental fee also makes it an affordable elopement package. Halfway House is absolutely one of the city’s hidden gems, making it a top outdoor location perfect for elopements.

One of the best restaurants in Boulder for intimate elopement dinners is directly across from Halfway House. The Flagstaff House Restaurant offers fine dining with breathtaking views of Boulder, Colorado. It offers innovative New American Cuisine and an extensive wine list. It is one of my favorite spots if you are looking for an upscale, private option in Boulder for a post-elopement dinner or a smaller rehearsal dinner if you are hosting a micro-wedding or micro-elopement. Both Halfway House & the Flagstaff House overlook Boulder with panoramic views and are a client favorite for places to get married in the city.
Choosing a public, but reservable, location like Halfway House provides a lower cost breakdown for eloping in Boulder. Many clients DIY their floral arrangements from Trader Joe’s of Whole Foods. I have amazing resources for helping these turn out beautifully. You can also self-solemize in Boulder, meaning that having a paid officiant is optional.
If you are researching how to book an elopement photographer in Boulder, I recommend finding a local photographer who understands the weather and lighting patterns of popular outdoor locations. Local Colorado photographers can also connect you to vendors like elopement florists who deliver, hair and makeup artists and day of coordinators if you decide to go with a larger micro-wedding.
