In Home Family Lifestyle Sessions 

Lifestyle family sessions in your own home let kids be kids in the places they feel most comfortable. 

Preparing kids for a lifestyle family photo shoot in your own home requires minimal effort and direction. I provide client wardrobe assistance and gentle, guided prompts that emphasize comfort and fun over formality. 

In home sessions don’t require any props or setups traditionally used in lifestyle family photography sessions that occur in a studio. We focus on time together using play and activities instead of photos that feel overly styled or posed. 

I work throughout Denver and the surrounding areas such as Evergreen, Castle Rock, Littleton and Highlands Ranch. Authentic sessions in your own home capture the in between moments and milestones found in ordinary moments. 

If you don’t feel like cleaning or tidying, I offer in home sessions in gorgeous VRBOs on a seasonal basis.

Outdoor Family Lifestyle Sessions

Outdoor family sessions are preferable if your kiddos are most comfortable playing outside or if you want to include pets to add meaningful storytelling. Outdoor sessions allow for active play that creates natural expressions, and they are perfect for toddlers through teenagers. 

Outdoor family lifestyle sessions emphasize play and personality, so prompts include red rover, tag, piggy backs and balancing on logs.

Toddlers love an outdoor mission: finding a flower or showing mama their fastest fun. It takes little to no work to prepare kids for a lifestyle family photo shoot outside. 

Some of my favorite outdoor locations in and around the Denver foothills are in Conifer, Evergreen, Littleton, Morrison and Golden. 

I also work in top-rated Denver photography studios like The Cottage at Conifer and Sugarhill Studio that offer gorgeous hybrid indoor and outdoor locations which are great for unpredictable Colorado weather. Some Denver pet-friendly locations for photos include South Valley Park, Bear Creek Lake and Staunton State Park.

 I find that the best time of day for outdoor family photos is early morning or evening. I know from experience that small kiddos typically do best in the morning golden hour (did you know there are two golden hours) but you know your family routine best!

How to Choose the Right Photographer

Finding the right Denver lifestyle family photographer is not as challenging as it may seem. I recommend first looking for photographers who are experienced working with families and children of all ages. 

I am a substitute teacher and have extensive experience working with kiddos with special needs and differing abilities such as autism. Experience and personality fit are important factors. 

You should also look at portfolios or ask to see full family lifestyle galleries to make sure your photographer captures the big and in between moments that matter to your family.

Our family sessions typically last 25 or 45 minutes. If you are visiting Colorado for a family vacation or family reunion, I offer customized pricing for extended family sessions or multi generation sessions. 

I find that our shorter sessions are perfect for families of four or less with small kiddos. Shorter sessions are also ideal for working in between nap schedules. 

I offer affordable lifestyle family session packages in Denver, Evergreen, Conifer and the Denver foothills generally. Sessions include full access to digital copies as well as the option to purchase prints from our recommended lab or one that you select.
